Winklestone Vineyard

We are small, family-run, organic vineyard, nestled in the village of Fairwarp in the heart of Ashdown Forest. We planted our vineyard here in 2020 and have been expertly tending our vines by hand with great care ever since.

We are striving to produce excellent, high quality, organic wine that makes a difference to the environment and the village community surrounding it.

Our first harvest was in 2023, producing a delicious, clean, crisp and fragrant still white wine, available to purchase on our website.

Our wines are produced in small batches, with minimal intervention during the winemaking process.

The name ‘Winklestone’ is the colloquial name for Sussex Marble, a local rock seam containing fossilised winkle shells and has traditionally been used in churches around the forest and across the county of East Sussex.

We've had a busy few weeks strimming, mowing, processing some fallen down trees and most importantly, tasting some new blends for our 2024 vintage 🌷 The good news is our new wines taste excellent! This is a true testament to the hard work we put in

The daffs are out and you can now buy our organic wine along with excellent local produce @plawhatchfarm. Even the chickens were interested in a bottle ready for the sunny weekend ahead! 🐣🥂
